📈 Player Development

From: Geoff Schomogyi (@CoachSchmogs) — Head Coach | King Rebellion Jr. A (OJHL)

Most players wait for a 2-on-1 to happen. The smart ones create one.

Skate hard at the defenseman, draw him to you, and the lane opens for your teammate. This is the read that separates instinctive players from reactive ones — and @CoachSchmogs shows exactly how to make it happen.

This week’s development feature was selected directly from drills and breakdowns shared inside the HPC Community.

More from HPC coaches this week:

  • Linear Crossovers with a Chaser — @alex4422222: compete-based skating rep with a chaser on your heels. The pressure is the point.

  • Regain & Attack — @BrandonRubeo: high-tempo drill that trains you to handle a bad pass and immediately attack with deception.

🏆 Playmaker of the Week

Who: Derek Terauds (@Derek_Terauds_7) — C | 2012 Flint Ice Raiders

A complete player doesn't just score — he finds ways to finish.

The 2012 center put together a reel that shows three different ways to put the puck in the net: toe drag top corner, dangle to a blocker snipe, and a one-timer finish. All skill, no fluke.

More plays posted inside the Hockey Players Club this week:

  • Between the legs roof — @HockeyKid16 dangles the defender and buries it top shelf the hard way

  • Five-hole tuck — @jkramer0309 pops over the d-man's stick and tucks it clean

  • Shorthanded snipe — @JDaff21 races to the loose puck and goes blocker side in a 5-4 win
